Report: Jets record impressive win over Wanderers in Tamworth

American attacker Sarah Griffith scored a hat-trick as the Newcaastle Jets recorded their first win of the season against the Western Sydney Wanderers with a 4-2 victory in Tamworth.

The Jets started brightly and almost scored in the first nine minutes when Murphy Agnew had her shot well saved.

Murphy then turned provider, putting through Sarah Griffith to cooly finish past the Wanderers keeper.

The Wanderers made it 1-1 when Melissa Caceres scored a spectacular volley on the edge of the box.

The Jets pushed hard to find the lead again and Sarah Griffith grabbed her second when she met Agnew’s corner on the edge of the box to volley first time with her wrong foot to give the Jets a half time lead.
