Jets set to return to Coffs Harbour

Newcastle Jets is pleased to confirm that they will be returning to the Coffs Coast this September for their annual Jets:Tour fuelled by Greater Bank, culminating in a pre-season trial match against Brisbane Roar at C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour, in association with the City of Coffs Harbour.

The A-League Men’s team will depart Newcastle on Sunday 17 September bound for Coffs Harbour, where the team will spend four days training and engaging with the Northern New South Wales community ahead of the trial match on Wednesday 20 September.

Jets:Tour 2023 will feature a number of highlights including two free Jets: Play clinics for the local communities in Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, four Jets school visits in Coffs Harbour, an open training session at C.ex Coffs International Stadium on the morning of Tuesday 19 September, and a pre-season trial between Rob Stanton’s Jets and Ross Aloisi’s Roar on the Wednesday evening.

Newcastle Jets Executive Chairman, Shane Mattiske, said Jets:Tour 2023 represents a great opportunity for the club to engage with its member and supporter base as well as the wider football community in Northern NSW.

“As a club we are delighted by the prospect of returning to regional Northern NSW as part of our pre-season preparations,” Mattiske said. “We know we have a number of supporters in the region, and thanks to Greater Bank and the City of Coffs Harbour we have a great platform to engage closely with them and the wider football community this September.”

Greater Bank’s Regional Sales Manager, Scott McCluskey, said Jets: Tour is an amazing opportunity for local football fans to both learn from the pros and see them in action.

“On the back of the Matildas’ historic showing at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the whole region has caught a serious case of football fever, and we’re so excited for the Jets to come and connect with our fans and community,” McCluskey said.

“The clinics will allow our budding football talents to hone their skills under the watchful eye of some of the A-League’s finest, before the Jets give all their local fans a taste of what’s to come this season under new Head Coach Rob Stanton – right here at our world-class stadium.

“As the Jets’ Major Community Partner, Greater Bank couldn’t be prouder to fuel Jets:Tour!”

City of Coffs Harbour Mayor Paul Amos said.

“We’re excited to be welcoming the Newcastle Jets back for their pre-season training camp. No doubt the highlight will be seeing the Jets take on Brisbane Roar at C.ex Coffs International Stadium. With free kids entry, we expect the Coffs Harbour community to be out in force, cheering on the home-away-from-home side.”

Greater Bank will be on tour to enable the club and Greater Bank to share more tour insights and highlights for fans throughout the trip via the web and social media.
