The Newcastle Jets have confirmed today that Greater Bank has extended its partnership with the club for a further two seasons.
The Hunter-based customer-owned bank first linked with the club in 2015 as its Major Community Partner to assist the Jets to rejuvenate their approach to community engagement throughout the Hunter and wider Northern New South Wales regions.
Newcastle Jets’ Executive Chairman, Shane Mattiske, is delighted that Greater Bank is continuing their long-standing partnership that will support the club and football across the wider community.
“Greater Bank is one of the Jets’ longest standing partners and it is great to know that they are continuing to support the community through football and a connection to the club,” Mr Mattiske said.
“Greater Bank has real strength throughout the Hunter and Northern New South Wales, which aligns perfectly with our footprint and the club’s desire to strengthen and grow football throughout this region.
“Importantly, Greater Bank is a great partner for the Jets, with respect to their focus on engaging with, and giving back to, the broader football community.”
Central to the partnership is the delivery of the Jets:LEARN program that provides primary school students the opportunity to engage with the stars of the men’s and women’s teams, remain active and work on their football skills at school. Over the past 12 months theprogram wasrolled out to 95 schools across regional NSW, reaching more than 6,500 students.
The partnership will also deliver a series of Jets:PLAY free coaching clinics conducted in the Hunter and beyond to give aspiring footballers the opportunity to learn skills and meet their men’s and women’s football heroes in person.
Also returning following a COVID hiatus is the Jets:TOUR powered by Greater Bank that will see the Newcastle Jets visit regional NSW centres to conduct coaching clinics and play against local representative teams. Planning is currently underway for a Jets:TOUR in November.
To kick off the season, the club is heading to Coffs Harbour from the 21August as part of the club’s preparations for the 2022/23 A-League season. During the week-long stay the players will visit local primary schools and conduct a skills clinic for aspiring young footballers in the area.
Greater Bank’s Head of Marketing, Ingrid Kaczor, said they are thoroughly looking forward to continuing the partnership with the club.

“Since 2015, we have achieved some great outcomes through the delivery of our community programs that have created tangible connections between the club and community, as well as driven greater engagement with Newcastle Jets fans.
“We look forward to continuing to build on these connections over the coming two seasons.” The Newcastle Jets A-League Men’s season kicks off on Sunday, 8 October at Central Coast Stadium where they take on the Mariners, followed by the first home game of the season on Saturday, 15 October against Perth Glory, which will also be Greater Bank’s Community Match. The A-League Women’s 2022/23 fixture is expected to be released in late August or September.
