Dundas and Karipidis upgraded from Scholarship to full Liberty A-League contracts

The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce that Academy graduates Emma Dundas and Zoe Karipidis have been upgraded to full Liberty A-League contracts for the remainder of the season.

After graduating from the Academy, the pair have gone on to impress at senior level.

16-year-old Dundas has been a regular in Gary van Egmond’s midfield this season, having started in eight of the Jets matches so far in this campaign.

18-year-old Karipidis has started five of the seven matches she has played in defence this season.

Newcastle Jets Liberty A-League Head Coach Gary van Egmond is delighted to reward the pair for the development at the club this season.

“It’s really pleasing to see that hard work pays off in the case of Emma and Zoe.

They are two players who have come through the Academy and after making the transition from the NSW NPL to A-League this season I’m happy to upgrade their respective deals which reflect their hard work this season It’s a credit to the club’s Academy to show that there is a great p[athway here for young boys and girls in Newcastle.

Both players have also spent time with Junior Matildas programs and they have a very bright future in the game.”
