Damian Zane to play a bigger role in youth development at the Jets

The Jets today confirmed that Zane will continue in his role as Youth Team Coach while also taking on a further role within the first team environment to help with the development of the Club’s Youth Team players to the A-League Men’s side.

Newcastle Jets Head Coach Rob Stanton is delighted to have Damian involved.

“I’m delighted to bring in Damian to the first team set-up to help ease our Youth Team players into the professional A-League men’s environment.

He has done a great job already in the development of the club’s bright young local players such as Lachlan Bayliss, Kierry James, Christian Bracco, Xavier Bertoncello, Will Dobson and Jordan Bayliss to name a few and we’re excited to have him continue their development around the A-League Men’s environment.”

Zane joined the Jets last season to take charge of the Jets Youth team in the after years of success in the local NPL with Edgeworth Eagles and Broadmeadow Magic.

Damian Zane said.

“I’m happy to be able to build on what was started last season, it’s been great since Rob’s appointment. To have his trust and willingness to give youth a go. It’s opened a lot of doors that people in this football community are excited for.

For myself, I’m excited to be able to help the youth make the transition to the first team. If you look at the age of our squad in the first team right now it’s quite young and this is an exciting time for these players.”
