The Newcastle Jets are excited to confirm the venues for the Women’s team for the 2023/24 Liberty A-League season.
With an increased number of matches confirmed for the new season, the Newcastle Jets will now host 11 home matches in what will be a highly anticipated domestic season following the success of the recent Women’s World Cup.
Three matches will be played at Maitland Regional Sportsground following the success of the Men’s recent Australia Cup match played there.
Newcastle Jets Executive Chairman Shane Mattiske said.
“It has been great to see our Women’s team settle into training and it’s clear that they will be a highly competitive team in this year’s competition.
We are focused on lifting the profile of Women’s football throughout this region and are looking forward to strong support from our community.
We encourage the football community and fans to get behind the team and purchase a Women’s membership or a whole of Club membership as we look to break our record for support of the ALW Jets.
In terms of games, with the expansion of the competition, we’ve been able to use the additional games to bring topflight Women’s football to Maitland and the communities around this growing region. We’re looking forward to giving more people an opportunity to engage with elite Women’s football.
We’re also very excited to be kicking off the season with a huge double-header on November 5 against one of our rivals, the Western Sydney Wanderers. This will be the first opportunity to see our Women’s and Men’s teams at home and is an event not to be missed.
