With plenty of family-friendly timeslots and blockbuster clashes now locked in, we wanted to bring you all the information to get you excited for the upcoming 23/24 Season!

Our 2023/24 Home Opener

Round 3
Newcastle Jets v Western Sydney Wanderers
No. 2 Sportsground
Saturday November 4 2023
Kick Off: 4:00pm

A new-look ALW squad under club legend Gary Van Egmond will host their first home game of the season against the Western Sydney Wanderers. Both sides failed to make the finals last season and will be looking to start the season strongly as they push for a return to finals football.

The new-look Jets will be looking to hit the ground running as they build new combinations and gel as a team. Jets stalwart Cass Davis returns for her 11th season alongside new recruits Alex Huynh and Claudia Cicco, and a sense of urgency should be expected as the squad look to solidify their own positions for the season.

The two clubs split the two fixtures last year with a win a piece, so expect a close battle.

With a prime timeslot for catching the game live at 4pm, Saturday the 4th of November, and our kids under 13 go free promotion* available for the season, our home opener is set to be a big one!

Star Power on Show in Newcastle

Round 7
Newcastle Jets v Sydney FC
No. 2 Sportsground
Sunday December 10
Kick Off: 4:00pm

Round 7 see’s our ALW side take on the reigning champions, Sydney FC, in a perfect family friendly timeslot at 4pm Sunday, December 10.

This fixture shapes as a brilliant litmus test for our new squad as the middle of the 2023/24 season approaches, with Sydney sure to be competitive again following their dominant 2022/23 campaign that saw them first at the end of the regular season and champions on Grand Final day.

Matilda’s star Cortnee Vine has just inked a new one year deal with Sydney, and will take the field for her first trip to Newcastle since booting Australia into a world cup semifinal in a tense shootout against France.

Last year’s home fixture saw the Jets fight back from an early deficit, with a 48th minute corner finished off by Tara Andrews to close the gap to just one goal. A late penalty to Princess Ibini gave Sydney some breathing room and despite a late push from the Jets the match finished 4-2.

The Inaugural Derby Trophy Decided on Home Soil

The inaugural Women’s F3 Derby will be decided on home soil in Round 14.

Far and away our fiercest rivalry as a Club, a brand-new Mariners side will travel to Newcastle for a 5pm kick-off on the Australia day long weekend.

Both sides will hope to be in finals contention with just a month left in the regular season and this could well shape as a key battle for ladder positions.

Location and kick-off time is yet to be confirmed for the derby.
