Newcastle Jets CEO Shane Mattiske is delighted to be returning to the Tamworth region this year.

“We are excited to be locking in our Greater Bank Tour of Tamworth as part of the Festival of Football.  The Jets proudly represent all of the North of NSW, and we know that there are many fans of football and a huge number of participants in the Northern Inland region.

Our A-League Women’s team is about to launch their 2022/23 campaign and I know they are excited to be playing their first ever competition game in Tamworth.  This is a great opportunity to bring top-flight women’s football to the region and to inspire young players.

The Festival of Football will be a big event for any sports lover.  There is a huge commitment to bring four professional teams to town and with the alignment to the broadcast of the FIFA Men’s World Cup Socceroos match, this will be a very big celebration of sport.

We’re excited to be putting tickets on sale and look forward to the community coming together around this game.

We know that this festival can’t take place without the support of the State Government and Tamworth Council, and we are confident that their support will allow the event to be a significant boost for the community throughout the region.”

Greater Bank’s Community Engagement Manager, Ingrid Kaczor, said the recently renewed partnership with the Newcastle Jets provides an important platform for the bank and club to connect with key regional markets.

“Greater Bank has been servicing customers in these regional areas for more than 40 years and the regional tour helps us to connect with the people and communities that support us,” Ingrid said.

“We are delighted to again partner with the Newcastle Jets to take the tour to this regional centre and give the football fans the chance to meet their heroes and watch elite football live in their hometown.”
